Associate Professor at AGH University of Science and Technology Rafał Wisniowski Ph.D. graduated from the Faculty of Drilling and Crude Oil in 1988 with a degree in drilling. He obtained the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences at the Faculty of Drilling and Crude Oil in 1992. He completed postgraduate studies in gas industry marketing and management at the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of AGH University in 2000. In 2003, the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in the field of mining and geology, speciality – drilling and engineering geology was conferred on him by the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of AGH University. It was at the Faculty that he obtained the position of associate professor of technical sciences in the field of mining and geology, speciality – drilling and engineering geology.

Since the beginning of his scientific career, he has worked at the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of AGH University of Science and Technology. In 1991 he was employed as a trainee assistant, in the years 1992-2005 - as an assistant professor and now - as a professor.

His research focuses on optimal drilling techniques and technologies as well as designing deep borehole wells and non-vertical wells.

He has authored and co-authored a number of analyses for the petroleum industry, 160 publications and lectures presented at scientific conferences in Poland and abroad, three university course books and two monographs.

He actively works for SITPNiG, NOT (Polish Federation of Engineering Associations), SPE Sekcja Polska (the Society of Petroleum Engineers in Poland), the Polish Society for Trenchless Technology, the Unit of Mining (T-12A) in KBN ( State Committee on Scientific Research).
