    Prof. nzw. dr hab. inż. Jan Lubaś

    Associate Professor, Jan Lubaś Ph.D. graduated from AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow in 1973. He specializes in prospecting oil and gas. He is the Deputy Director for Hydrocarbon Deposits Development in the Oil and Gas Institute. He supervises and co-authors a number of important research on the exploration and prospecting of the biggest deposits of hydrocarbons in Poland. At the same time, he works for the Polish Carbon Sequestration Program “Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage”. In the years 2008-2011, he was President of the Scientific Board of the Oil and Gas Institute. He is in charge of the Committee No. 31 on Oil and Gas Mining as well as a member of the Committee on Mining of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He was also involved in the work with the Chief National Geologist Bureau and is a member of the editing office of Przegląd Geologiczny (Geological Review). At present, he is an editor of “Wiek Nafty” (“The Age of Oil”) magazine. He has been awarded several times, e.g. by the Minister of Labour and the Minister of Mining and Power Industry for his achievements in creating and implementing the technology of cleaning natural gas of mercury as well as by the Minister of the Environment for the first European system for carbon dioxide sequestration. He has authored and co-authored 78 scientific works, 4 books and 4 patents. He sits on the board of the Krosno branch of the Polish Association of Petroleum and Gas Industry Engineers and Technicians.
